A Message From Dr. Logan Cooper
At OMT Specialists we love helping people who want to move better, feel better and perform better.
Have you found our site because you’re looking to work with a physical therapist in Maryland or Virginia? Have you been recommended to try physical therapy? If yes, then you’ve come to the right place! When pain and problems appear, it’s tempting to think “it’ll go away if I just rest” or even pretend like it never happened… Unfortunately, oftentimes the problem festers, slowly getting worse, impacting your lifestyle and disrupting your happiness. Things like pain medications, injections, or other services like chiropractic, massage, or acupuncture may provide temporary relief…but then the symptoms return and you feel even more helpless. Physical therapy, when done properly, not only gets rid of your pain, but also finds the root cause of the pain so your pain STAYS AWAY and so you can get back to your normal lifestyle. We know you’re skeptical. Likely you’ve been to other healthcare practitioners in the past and nothing they’ve done has helped you or your problems. We Understand. If that sounds like you, you’re not alone. Most of our clients at OMT Specialists have often:
🙁 Tried treatment elsewhere, sometimes even at other PT clinics, and had poor experiences and results. 🙁 Thought the pain would go away on its own it they just rested, only to find that it doesn’t. 🙁 Been told by a friend or family member that their pain or problem is just “a normal part of getting older” and to accept it. 🙁 Have been to the doctor and been told that their only options are “painkillers, surgery, or injections”. 🙁 Have tried exercises from YouTube, their personal trainer, or other fitness studios but found they only aggravated the pain and made their problems worse. 🙁 Have had surgery, injections, or used painkillers only to have minimal or even no success. Do Any Of These Sound Like You?If you relate, then we would love to help you by setting up a time for you to talk to one of our Physical Therapists here in Maryland or Virginia to find out what can be done to help you. If you’ve tried a lot of things already, that’s not a bad thing. In fact, it’s actually a good thing because we now know what DOESN’T work and are closer to finding out what WILL work for your problem.

Dr. Logan's Story...
Dr. Logan Cooper is Maryland and Virginia’s leading physical therapist who will give you the one-on-one time to listen to you, help you understand what is going on and why, and will help come up with a plan to get you back to the things you want to do and enjoy doing – all while getting out, and staying out, of pain.
He founded Orthopedic Manual Therapy Specialists (OMT Specialists) because he had been through “the system” as a patient and was disappointed in the way that typical physical therapy clinics operate. He is board certified as a clinical specialist in orthopedics (OCS), certified in functional manual medicine (CFMM), a certified strength and conditioning specialists (CSCS), medical level 3 certified Titleist Performance Institute (TPI medical 3) professional, TRX certified trainer, certified Rock Doc for Rock Tape application, and certified in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and Functional Movement Screening (FMS). |

Michel M."I am most grateful to Dr Logan Cooper for the excellent treatment given me over the past couple of years, in addition to providing continuing advice. It is not just that he is attentive, which is not such a rare trait, he diagnoses with a fine tooth comb and takes pains to get to the bottom of the problem. always looking to build on previous assessments. The ensuing treatment was highly effective relieving me of intense pain and getting me back to normal physical activities. Having been told there was no choice but to be operated on by another physician, heading nowhere fast, the chance introduction to Dr Cooper proved to be most fortunate. He definitely warrants 5 stars."

JoAnna M."I have struggled with upper-trap and neck pain for many years and no physical therapist or chiropractor has been able to make an ounce of difference. When I first went to see Dr. Cooper, I walked out of my session immediately feeling better. I now drive all the way from Charlottesville, VA every few months to see Dr. Cooper because that is how great he is and how much he has been able to help make a huge difference in my pain!! He does not just treat the initial issue/problem, he thoroughly evaluates all the intricacies and connectivity of your body that are causing the initial pain/issue and starts there. Since I travel far to see him, he is always willing to communicate with me via email and send me different stretches to try at home. I couldn't say enough about him and am so thankful for his treatment!" |
Allan G."Dr. Cooper has spent the last fifteen years resolving my issues with two replacement knees, spondylolisthesis, severe sciatica, two herniated discs, spinal compression, disc compression fractures and recovery from two torn rotator cuffs. I now visit him four times each year for a "tune-up" (sometimes with follow-up visits), always feeling better and walking better when I leave. His help has permitted me to continue heavy landscaping activities and single-handing a large sailboat boat into my eighties. He always provides suggested exercises to promote improvement. I cannot recommend him too highly. He is undoubtedly the very best and most caring therapist I have ever had."

MaryAnn M."I've been treated by Dr. Cooper for 4 years. Having gone to many physical therapists over 20+ years for significant back issues and post operative treatment , I finally found, hands-down, the best physical therapist. Logan doesn't just treat pain or the problem area. He understands and evaluates how tissues are connected and how, together, they affect movement, pain, and functioning. He stays abreast on the latest studies and treatment modalities and continues to introduce new techniques to help improve my strained muscles, impinged nerves and spinal alignment. I would not see another physical therapist, and completely trust him for my overall wellness. I'm so grateful for the ongoing improvements I've experienced because of his care." |
Lillian C."I am a rock climber and suffered a chronic high hamstring injury for several years. I saw Dr. Cooper for a few sessions and went from not climbing at all for a number of months to spending a month climbing in Greece and climbing some of my hardest climbs. Dr. Cooper is amazing at diagnosing and treating in a holistic way - looking at the mechanics of body movement and pinpointing the source of the problem that creates the pain. He then gives exercises that trains/re-trains the body to move in a more efficient and healthy way. Dr. Cooper is also a climber and is well read in climbing specific injuries as well as a runner and cyclist. I highly recommend Dr. Cooper not just for rock climbers but for athletes in general who really don't want to take time off, as is the more traditional advice given, but who works to keep you in motion throughout the healing process."

Cherie W."Dr. Cooper is the best PT that has ever treated my daughter . She saw him originally for shin splints that had been plaguing her for 2 years . She had already seen a few therapists prior to seeing Dr. Cooper and he was able to figure out what was causing the problem almost immediately. Within a few visits he was able to teach her how to easily change her running style so that she could run without shin pain. She continued to see Dr. Cooper periodically as she continued to play soccer during her high school career . He was able to help with any minor strains that she acquired during games so that she was able to continue to play . His attention to detail and thorough use of appointment time made him invaluable. Additionally he provided a great deal of flexibility with appointment scheduling - which was critical for a high school student athlete. She is now playing in college and Dr. Cooper was instrumental in her getting to that level. Most importantly, he cared about her success not only as a patient but as a person . We continue to stay in touch and update him with her successes." |
Michael I."Logan Cooper has completely changed my life. I started going to him 2 years ago for severe back, neck and shoulder pain. At the time I was using a walker and had limited range of motion. As of today I'm able to go to the gym, get around with limited assistance, and live life again. He is the best therapist I've ever been to (and I've been to a lot), and his knowledge is beyond amazing. His friendly staff always helps to get you the quickest appointments and help with your insurance plans." |
